Ingredients list for flax seed bread with sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 1/2 cups of wheat flour
- 1 1/3 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup of flax seeds
- 1/2 cup of sunflower seeds
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon of dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3 tablespoons of honey
How to prepare flax seed bread with sunflower seeds
- Place the butter in room temperature to make it soft.
- Mix wheat flour, whole wheat flour, flax seeds and sunflower seeds.
- Use ½ cup of the water to proof the dry yeast in a separate bowl.
- Mix the yeast mixture with the rest of the water and stir in the salt.
- Gradually mix wheat-and-seed mixture with the yeast mixture and add honey and butter.
- Knead the dough and leave it to rise for 60 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and leave it to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Shape the dough into two loaves and leave them to rest for 15-20 minutes while you preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Bake the flax seed bread in the oven until ready, this will normally take 25-35 minutes.
- Leave to cool down before you enjoy this delicious flax seed bread.
Flax seed bread with protein powder
Ingredients list for flax seed bread with protein powder
3/4 cup of water
1 tablespoon of bakers yeast
2 tablespoons of regular or non-fat milk
2 tablespoons of protein powder
1 tablespoon of raw honey
2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon of flax seed oil
4 cups of whole oat flour
1/4 cup of flax seed (freshly ground)

How to prepare flax seed bread with protein powder
- Start by grounding flax seeds until you have ¼ a cup. Flax seeds are best when freshly grounded, because ground flax seeds that are stored for any longer period of time will lose a significant amount of its nutritional value.
- Warm the water and dissolve the yeast in it.
- Stir in milk, protein powder, honey, salt, olive oil, flax seed oil and 2 cups of whole oat flour.
- Add the grounded flax seeds and the rest of the whole oat flour and knead to dough on a lightly floured surface. The dough for this flax seed bread should be smooth and elastic. Add more flour if necessary.
- Oil a loaf pan.
- Shape the flax seed bread dough and place it in the loaf pan.
- Leave to rise until it has doubled its size.
- While the flax seed bread is rising, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place the flax seed bread in the oven and bake until done. (Normally around 45-55 minutes.)
- Leave to cool and enjoy with cottage cheese and fresh herbs.
