Flax seed recipe for low carb muffins

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. (You can also use this flax seed recipe for microwave cooking.)
  • Melt 6 tablespoons of butter.
  • Place the butter in a bowl and add 3 eggs and ¼ cup of whipping cream. If you want to decrease the amount of fat in this flax seed recipe, you can instead use 50% milk and 50% whipping cream.
  • The next step in this flax seed recipe is to beat butter, eggs and cream together.
  • Stir in ½ cup of artificial sweetener, 1 tablespoon of maple flavouring and 1 tablespoon of vanilla.
  • For this flax seed recipe, you can ground your own flax seeds or use 1 cup of already grounded flax seeds.
  • Chop 4 oz of black walnuts.
  • Place the flax seeds and the walnuts in an empty bowl and mix them with ¼ cup of soy flour, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, ½ teaspoon of baking powder and ½ teaspoon of baking soda. Add the mixture to the bowl with the egg mix and gently stir all ingredients together.
  • Place 12 cupcake liners in a muffin tin and fill them with the flax seed mix.
  • Bake the flax seed muffins for roughly 15-20 minutes.
  • If you want to make really big muffins, you simply double this flax seed recipe and use 18 cupcake liners.

As mentioned above, you can use this flax seed recipe for microwave cooking. If you make 12 muffins, they will need approximately 2 minutes and 10 seconds at 1000 watt.

Flax seed recipe for pizza flax seed meal

This pizza bread is ideal for a healthy flax seed meal with plenty of fibre. If you want to improve the food quality even more, you can choose healthy toppings such as chicken or sea food, fresh vegetables, a small amount of low-fat cheese and strong spices that will kick start your metabolism.

1.) Boil some water and use it to cover ½ cup of sun-dried tomatoes. The tomatoes will be soft enough to use in this flax seed recipe after roughly 10 minutes.
2.) Drain the sun-dried tomatoes and dice them.
3.) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
4.) Place the diced sun-dried tomatoes in a bowl and add 2 ½ cup of all purpose flour, ½ cup of light parmesan cheese, ½ cup of ground flax seed, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of oregano, ½ tablespoon of salt and ¼ tablespoon of black pepper. Stir all ingredients together.
5.) Whisk together 1 egg, 1 ¼ cup of skim milk and 2 tablespoons of canola oil in another bowl.
6.) Pour the egg mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until you have formed a moist mix.
7.) Grease a loaf pan (ideally measuring 8.5 x 4.5 inches) and pour the mix into the pan.
8.) Bake the pizza in the preheated oven until a wooden pick can be inserted in the centre and come out clean. This will typically take from 55 to 60 minutes. 

Flax seed muffin recipe

You can also use this flax seed recipe to make delicious muffins. Increase the amount of skim milk from 1 ¼ cup to 1 ½ cup and the decrease the amount of flour from 2 ½ cup to 2 cups. When you have poured the egg mixture over the dry ingredients and stirred everything together, you can blend in 1 diced tomato, ¼ cup of diced green pepper and 1/3 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Muffins will of course be ready faster; after approximately 25 minutes.>This flax seed recipe is enough for 12 muffins.
